FSU Art Painting Professors at Art Basel Miami Beach There is one annual art show and the winter meeting place for the international art world, that is Art Basel Miami Beach. This art fair transforms the city of Miami for one week a year, from Wynwood to Little Havana to the traditional Miami Beach hot spots. Record numbers of collectors, artists, dealers, curators, critics and art enthusiasts, will descend upon Miami for this once a year event.

Art Basel stages the world’s premier Modern and contemporary art shows, held annually in Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong. Founded by gallerists in 1970, Art Basel has been a driving force in supporting the role that galleries play in the nurturing of artists, and the development and promotion of visual arts. Art Basel is always innovating, thus expanding its platform for new artists who represent the vanguard of the visual arts. Its worldwide reputation for showing work of the highest merit, and attracting the world’s leading gallerists and collectors has made Art Basel the place where the art world meets.

Three of FSU’s award winning painting faculty will be participating during Art Basel Miami Beach. Mark Messersmith, Lilian Garcia Roig, and Carrie Ann Baade will have paintings on display at three different exhibitions in the Wynwood District during the first week of December.

Lilian Garcia Roig, Cuban born artist, will be exhibiting at Art Miami with Cernuda Arte, a gallery specializes in Cuban & Latin American Art, booth # E7 section E. Art Miami is the leading international contemporary and modern art fair at the Midtown Miami complex in the renowned Wynwood Arts District.

Next door to Art Miami is Red Dot Fair, where Carrie Ann Baade will be exhibiting her surreal oil paintings through Donna Gordon Gallery, St. Petersburg, FL, booth 311.

Just one mile away Mark Messersmith, is represented by Zakok Gallery on 2534 North Miami Avenue Miami, FL 33127. Their upstairs gallery will feature several of his bright paintings and totems.
